Fortnite: Battle Royale is getting a jetpack “soon.”
There’s little in life that a jetpack can’t improve, but can Fortnite beat the odds? Hopefully not. Along with the new legendary glider added to the game, Epic Games has announced that a Jetpack will be coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale sometime in the near future.
What form will these jetpacks take? So far nobody knows, but we can’t imagine them letting you soar in the sky forever otherwise fights in the final zone are going to be very strange. Some players have speculated that the new gear could act similarly to the jump pad, offering a single burst up into the sky, but considering how wildly different each new addition has been so far (just look at the Boogie Bomb and Impact Grenade), we imagine it’ll behave in a fairly unique way.
What will be interesting to see is how slow the jetpack is as a movement option. The Jump Pad offers the advantage of letting you travers a large distance quickly without drawing too much attention. If anyone is hovering loudly in the air they’ll make for a very easy target.
Also on the way is a new ‘Solid Gold’ mode in which only Legendary level weapons will drop, giving everyone the beefiest guns in the game to duke it out.
