Blizzard reportedly working on Nintendo Switch port of Diablo III

Switch on, Switch off.

Despite releasing a tweet last week which hinted at the possible release of a Diablo title for Nintendo Switch, Blizzard has remained intentionally vague. When Eurogamer asked about the tweet, the company responded:

“We cannot confirm this rumor. As of now, we do not have any current plans to announce Diablo for Switch. This tweet was meant to be a fun engagement piece.”

The “engagement piece” in question is interesting, as it features a Diablo-themed night light being switched on and off. While there’s no explicit information regarding a Nintendo Switch release, fans have speculated the simple “switching” action to be indicative of an upcoming port.

Additionally, sources at Eurogamer reportedly confirmed the project as a Switch port of Diablo III. The reason behind Blizzard’s denial? The reveal is several months away, and because the tweet caught a sizable amount of traction, Blizzard felt it necessary to douse the fan theory flames.

What do you think of Blizzard’s cryptic tweet? Do you think it hints at a Nintendo Switch release of Diablo, or are people reading too much into the “switch on, switch off” action featured in the clip? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below!
