5 Amazing Women in the Gaming Industry

These talented ladies have made some impressive contributions to the realm of gaming.

It's no secret that the gender ratio can be a bit unbalanced when it comes to game development within the gaming industry. Because of this, we thought that we would highlight some of the talented women behind-the-scenes who have made incredible contributions to a wide variety of critically acclaimed indie games. So without further ado, and in no particular order, here are five amazing women in the gaming industry!

5. Gone Home

Gone Home is a mystery adventure game by The Fullbright Company that is heavily based on exploration. Your name is Katie and you’ve just come home to Oregon from a year of studying abroad. It’s a rainy night and upon entering the house, you come to find that no one is home. The game then allows you to explore the large, empty house to uncover clues to where certain members of your family might be and what may have happened while you were away.

Karla Zimonja, animator, director, producer and co-founder of The Fullbright Company is one of the five fabulous women in indie gaming we want to highlight. Her experience spans across the realm of gaming including work on the Minerva’s Den DLC for BioShock 2 to co-founding Fullbright. Currently, she’s working on Tacoma, Fullbright's next title in their long lineup of impressive games. Tacoma is expected to release in spring of 2017 and we can't wait to see Karla's impressive work in the limelight once more. Buy Gone Home on Steam
