Destiny 2 - How to get MIDA Multi-Tool

A simple step-by-step guide on how to unlock the MIDA Multi-Tool in Destiny 2.

The MIDA Multi-Tool makes its triumphant return to Destiny 2, retaining its previous power and perks. This Exotic Scout Rifle keeps your radar on screen when ADSing and increases your movement speed, it also has increased power when coupled with the Legendary Submachine Gun, the MIDA Mini-Tool. Luckily for you, unlocking the MIDA Multi-Tool in Destiny 2 is easy!

How to Unlock the MIDA Multi-Tool

Getting your hands on the MIDA Multi-Tool requires a few steps that involve completing missions, killing enemies, and speaking with Vendors. It’s a good idea to save the MID Multi-Tool quest until you are above 260 and 270 Power, as this is important in knowing how to level past 265 Power.

A tip before you begin is to save 5 Scout Rifles, either Blue/Rare ones or Purple/Legendary, as you will need them later on.

Finish the Campaign and Reach Level 20

The first step in acquiring the MIDA Multi-Tool is to finish the Campaign and reach Level 20. The main story mission, The Red War, should take anywhere between 8-12 hours depending on your speed and whether you stop to do other activities.

Finish “Enhance!” Quest on EDZ

Head to the European Dead Zone and finish the planetary quest called, “Enhance!” In this quest, you will need to track down some enhanced Ether supplies that the Fallen are using to grow stronger. The Recommended Power for this quest chain is 260, though it is possible at significantly lower Power, but it’s a real challenge.

Speak with Devrim

After finishing the “Enchance!” quest you must speak with Devrim to receive the Submachine Gun, MIDA Mini-Tool. This SMG pairs with the MIDA Multi-Tool, giving it enhanced benefits when both are equipped.

Speak with Banshee-44

Head to the Tower and talk with Banshee-44 after receiving the MIDA Mini-Tool, he will give you the next step in the quest to unlock the MIDA Multi-Tool. This quest is called, “Sight, Shoot, Repeat.” and involves using a Scout Rifle to kill 50 enemies with precision shots and kill multiple enemies without reloading. This can be completed over any period of time during any activity.

Return to the Tower

After “Sight, Shoot, Repeat.” is completed, return to the Tower and speak with Banshee-44 to begin the next step of the quest. You will need to dismantle the 5 Scout Rifles of Rare or Legendary rating that you saved earlier.

Final Quest

Once all the Scout Rifles are dismantled, Banshee-44 will give you one last mission to complete before handing over the MIDA Multi-Tool. You will need to complete the quest, “The Fall Will Kill You.” This quests requires 50 airborne SMG kills.

You can complete this mission however you see fit, though a good idea is to get enemies health down low, then jump and kill them while in the air. Alternatively, standing on a rock is apparently considered “airborne”, so try that out if you’re struggling.

Collect the MIDA Multi-Tool

The final step in unlocking the MIDA Multi-Tool is to return once more to Banshee-44 and collect your reward! He will be waiting for you with your very own MIDA Multi-Tool. If you waited to complete the quest until you were 260-270 Power, you should find that the MIDA Multi-Tool has an impressively high Power level!
