Acclaimed developer Hideo Kojima put his time at the recent Tokyo Games Show to good use, unveiling more cryptic details about his upcoming game, Death Stranding.
First, Kojima hinted on Twitter that Death Stranding might feature a female protagonist, in addition to the male protagonist played by Norman Reedus.

In a follow-up tweet, Kojima also confirmed that Death Stranding will be playable as both a single-player title and via a “new form of co-op play.”

Lastly, Kojima seemingly confirmed Death Stranding’s release window in an appropriately Kojima-esque way, saying that the game will launch before the start of the Tokyo Olympic Games (which are set to kick off in 2020), and before the time period depicted in the classic anime movie, Akira (the movie is set in the year 2019).

Going by Kojima’s hints, it sounds like Death Stranding will launch in 2018, though we’ll have to wait for the official confirmation.
