PUBG weapons guide
Now that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is coming to the family of Xbox One consoles, players will need to know the stats of every single gun in PUBG. When you first start playing, you will just want to know the basics of PUBG, but as you get better, you’ll want to learn about a weapon’s bullet velocity and average damage before armor calculations.
PUBG Weapons Guide
There are a lot of different weapons in PUBG, and while some of them can only be found in supply crates (obviously these are rare and incredibly powerful weapons), most are found around the island of Erangel in reasonable quantities. Below are the stats of every weapon currently available in the game.
Damage numbers are based on the amount of damage dealt to an unprotected torso. If you manage to hit an enemy’s head, you will deal roughly twice as much damage. The bullet velocity is, as the name suggests, the speed at which the bullet travels after leaving the barrel. A gun that has a faster bullet velocity requires less “leading” of a target when shooting at range.
Assault Rifles will be your bread and butter for your entire PUBG career. These offer excellent damage, high rates of fire, long-range accuracy, and a high ammo capacity. Typically, an AR will be your primary weapon followed by another powerful weapons, such as an SMG or Sniper Rifle.
|Assault Rifles||Ammo||Damage||Bullet Velocity||Clip/Mag||Firing Rate||Firing Modes||Locations Found||Attachments|
|Groza||7.62||48||715||30||High||Single/Burst/Auto||Supply Crate Only||3|
Sniper Rifles are hard to find, but if you do manage to find them, it can be difficult finding attachments. However, if you manage to find a sniper rifle and deck it out with attachments, you’re in for a good time.
|Sniper Rifles||Ammo||Damage||Bullet Velocity||Clip/Mag||Firing Rate||Firing Modes||Locations Found||Attachments|
|Karabiner 98 Kurz||7.62||72||760||5||Very Low||Single||Both||3|
|M24||7.62||84||790||5||Very Low||Single||Supply Crate Only||4|
|Mk14 EBR||7.62||60||853||10||Low||Single/Auto||Supply Crate Only||4|
|VSS Vintorez||9mm||38||330||10||Low||Single/Auto||Normal Drop||2|
|AWM||.300 Magnum||132||910||5||Very Low||Single||Supply Crate Only||4|
|Mini 14||5.56||44||900||20||Mid||Single||Normal Drop||3|
Rarely will you use a shotgun past the first few moments of a battle. While they are extremely powerful at close range, the PUBG average combat range might as well be represented by a bell curve, with “extreme close range” being the tapered ends. However, my personal favorite is the S686, as it might as well be considered a “sniper” – when aimed correctly (and when used with a choke), it can easily hit people at 10+ meters.
|Shotguns||Ammo||Damage||Effective Range||Clip/Mag||Firing Rate||Firing Modes||Locations Found||Attachments|
|S686||12 Gauge||25||Very Low||2||Very Low||Single||Normal Drop||2|
|S1897||12 Gauge||25||Very Low||5||Very Low||Single||Normal Drop||2|
|S12K||12 Gauge||22||Very Low||5||Very Low||Single||Normal Drop||3|
Submachine Guns offer excellent rate of fires and decent damage. If you can’t get your hands on a sniper rifle or a DMR, SMGs are an excellent alternative. It can help to keep your AR on “single fire” while your SMG is on "full-auto", that way all combat ranges are covered.
|SMGs||Ammo||Damage||Effective Range||Clip/Mag||Firing Rate||Firing Modes||Locations Found||Attachments|
|Micro Uzi||9mm||23||Low||25||High||Auto||Normal Drop||3|
|Vector||.45 ACP||31||Low||13||High||Single/Burst/Auto||Normal Drop||5|
|Tommy Gun||.45 ACP||38||Mid||100||Very High||Single/Auto||Normal Drop||3|
The more you play PUBG, the less likely you are to even pick up a pistol. They can be excellent for finishing off an enemy or early-game fights, but more often than not, the ammo will take up precious space.
|Pistols||Ammo||Damage||Effective Range||Clip/Mag||Firing Rate||Firing Modes||Locations Found||Attachments|
|R1895||7.62||46||Mid||7||Very Low||Single||Normal Drop||1|
|P1911||.45 ACP||35||Low||7||Low||Single||Normal Drop||3|
|P18C||9mm||19||Very Low||17||High||Single/Auto||Normal Drop||3|
Crossbows might as well not be in the game and the M249 is only available in supply crates, making it a rare pickup. However, if you do get your hands on an M249, prepare to unleash a torrent of bullets on your enemies. If you brave the Crossbow, be prepared for its sharp bolt drop, but if you do get a solid headshot, the enemy will go down fast.
|Misc||Ammo||Damage||Effective Range||Clip/Mag||Firing Rate||Firing Modes||Locations Found||Attachments|
|Crossbow||Bolt||105||Low||1||Very Low||Single||Normal Drop||2|
|M249||5.56||44||High||100||High||Auto||Supply Crate Only||1|
