Best Sites To Find Deals On Games

How to expand your indie game library without emptying your wallet.

Indie games are known for having a lower price point than their AAA counterparts, although buying up a handful at a time can be costly if you’re paying full price for each title. Fortunately, many websites offer up either deals or deal notifications that can help you avoid overpaying for games.

While we advocate supporting indie game developers and paying full price whenever possible, we also sympathize with the plight of wanting to pay-to-play and not having the necessary funds available. To help, we’ve compiled a list of the best sites to find deals on games!

Cheapshark

This website has to be one of our personal favorites when it comes to finding the best deals on games. Although it caters solely to PC gamers, it’s notable for acting as an “all-in-one” type of website. Cheapshark is set up like a grid and contains updated lists with the best prices on PC games.

Rather than having to scour the net looking for a price comparison, Cheapshark offers effortless visibility and a nifty search feature. If you’re looking for a particular game, Cheapshark will help you find the best place to buy it.

Humble Bundle

Humble Bundle may not be able to provide you with the best deals on a specific game depending on what you’re looking for, but their bundles and monthly subscription deals aren’t bad. If you sign up for notifications, you’ll get regular emails whenever a new bundle is released.

We’ve discovered several amazing games via Humble Bundle, and always enjoy seeing the notification in our inbox even if we don’t end up purchasing that particular bundle offering. If you have a lengthy list of games you’d love to own, staying up-to-date with the latest Humble Bundle offerings is typically a good idea. It’s not uncommon to wind up forgetting about a game you were after, only to find it up for grabs on Humble Bundle.

Steam

The one website to rule them all, Steam is one of the most well-known spots to purchase PC games. The interface is easy-to-use and is a must-have for any PC gamer out there. It costs nothing to create a Steam account, and even if you purchase a game deal from another website, you’ll often get a redeemable Steam key.

The highlight of Steam’s deals come during the annual Summer and Winter Sales. With the Winter Sale not too far away, be sure to create a Steam account in order to take advantage of their amazing prices. You’ll be surprised at how inexpensive many of the game offerings are, and once you buy it, it’ll remain on your Steam interface forever.

Slickdeals

This is another one for you console gamers. Slickdeals highlights discounted items for pretty much everything... including consoles, accessories, and games. You can filter your search by price, and get notifications whenever the price drops on one of your wishlist items through the website’s Deal Alerts feature.

Plus, you can use Slickdeals to pick up a brand new 4K TV to pair with your next-gen consoles, or you can browse at random to discover items you weren't even aware you wanted. Whatever you’re in the market for, Slickdeals has your back.

Game Jolt

If you're looking for obscure indie titles or are simply looking for some solid free-to-play games, Game Jolt has an impressive array of user-submitted content. If you're familiar with Steam Greenlight, you'll be familiar with Game Jolt's all-encompassing selection of titles.

Both Game Jolt and Itch.io host a gigantic selection of indie games, many of which cannot be found anywhere else. If you're looking to support indie developers, definitely browse through Game Jolt and see what it has to offer.

Amazon

Many websites on this list tailor exclusively to PC gamers rather than console. While it’s true Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo all offer regular deals on their respective stores, there are additional options worth mentioning for gamers looking to save some cash.

If you aren’t in the market for a previously owned game, or you don't care as long as you can stay indoors, Amazon is a reliable place to find discounts on both new and used consoles, games, and accessories. Over time, Amazon has evolved into one of the most widely known sites for rapid shipping and impressive deals. With Cyber Monday right around the corner, be sure to keep this website in your browser’s bookmarks bar!

Green Man Gaming

Similar in nature to Steam and GoG, Green Man Gaming is a website that offers regular discounts. However, what sets Green Man Gaming apart from other websites is the fact that it offers deals on both console and PC games, pre-orders, and Mystery Bundle offers.

We personally don’t use Green Man Gaming as often as some of the other websites on this list, but we cannot deny how nice it is to have both console and PC game deals in one convenient location. If you’re looking to save the most when using Green Man Gaming, be sure to create a free account as there are several member-only discounts worth taking advantage of.

With the holiday season right around the corner, these websites are essential for saving money and getting your shopping out the way quickly. What deal websites do you use to purchase games? Share your favorites in the comments below!
