Once you’ve chosen an Exo-Rig in The Surge, you’ll need to locate a Power Core in order to repair your Exo-Rig. This can be complicated, as you’ll likely find yourself distracted by the sights and sounds of the opening area of the game after you reach the Medbay within the OPS area.

The Surge - Where to Find Your Power Core
The first thing you’ll need to do is locate your Power Core in The Surge. To do this, you’ll need to head out the front exit within the OPS area, then head up the stairs. Here, you will encounter zombie-like humans in Exo-Rigs.
This is also the area where you learn about targeting specific areas and body parts in order to deal more damage. In another guide, we’ll explain how you can farm crafting materials in The Surge which can be used to craft Schematics helpful for targeting these weak points.
However, your current task is to eliminate the first Exo-Rig enemy you encounter, then head around the corner. There, you’ll find two more Exo-Rig enemies. After defeating them, head inside the cylinder on your left to battle and defeat another enemy, then grab the pickup. At this point, you’ll spot an Exo-Rig enemy banging its head against the wall.
Unfortunately, this enemy is also holding the Power Core needed to repair your Exo-Rig. If you’re playing on PC, use your middle mouse button (or the console equivalent), then select the enemy’s head as the subtarget. Next, use both horizontal and vertical strikes to knock the enemy’s health down. After you’ve killed it, look the pickup it drops, and grab your Power Core.
The Surge - How to Install Your Power Core
Now that you’ve found your Power Core in The Surge, you’ll need to know how to install it. To install your new Power Core, turn and head back to the OPS Center. Once there, head up the steps into the OPS area and interact with the Medbay to install the Power Core.
Note that interacting with the Medbay will restore any Medical Implants you have, but will also cause all enemies to respawn. This includes the Exo-Rig enemies you’ve killed while acquiring your Power Core.
Now that you have your Power Core installed, thus repairing your Exo-Rig, you can proceed to upgrade its power level. A higher power level will unlock additional Implant slots, and will also allow you to overcharge more powerful circuits in The Surge.
