Kingdom Come: Deliverance Locks Down an Official Release Date

Warhorse Studios released new information about their upcoming medieval RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Developer Warhorse Studios launched a brand new trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance which highlights the game’s central plot and reveals its projected release date.

Set to release on February 13th, 2018, Kingdom Come: Deliverance follows protagonist Henry whose life is forever altered when a mercenary raid slaughters his parents and burns his village to the ground. To avenge the death of his parents, Henry sets out on an epic quest through the lands of medieval Bohemia.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an extremely ambitious project its scope, detail, and stark attention to historical accuracy. Every aspect of Kingdom Come: Deliverance has been fine-tuned to create an engaging, immersive experience. For example, as you fight, your armor will become dirty and worn.

In combat, the game adopts a 5-point star system where if you swing your sword down, it will remain in the down position. Swing from left to right, and your sword will remain on your right. This adds an extra layer of realism to the fights in contrast with other games where the character will automatically revert back to a more traditional combat stance.

Combat isn’t the only thing that Warhorse Studios has sought to present sans automation, though. Acts like sharpening your sword, lockpicking, and crafting have all been given interactive actions. You have to hold and move the sword while you’re sharpening it, and physically guide the lockpick to crack the lock. All of this helps you feel as though you’re truly in Bohemia rather than watching the game from an outsider’s perspective.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a stunning project that will undoubtedly feel like a breath of fresh air to RPG fans. The primary function of an RPG is to enable you to take on the main character’s role and feel connected not only to their plight, but to the open world around you. From everything we’ve seen of Kingdom Come: Deliverance thus far, it’s shaping up to be one of the best RPG titles of the decade.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set to release on February 13th, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. To pre-order a copy, or learn more about the game, be sure to check out the official Kingdom Come: Deliverance website.
