Former Playdead CEO Starts Up New Company, Reveals New Game

Dino Patti has created a new studio and is embarking on a mysterious indie project with animator Chris Olsen.

Former Playdead CEO and co-founder Dino Patti recently started up a brand new indie studio called Jumpship. Aside from Patti jumping ship from Playdead (Limbo, Inside), he’s joined forces with animator Chris Olsen to create the studio’s first project, Somerville.

Not much is currently known about Somerville other than it’s a sci-fi game that follows the lives of various individuals in the wake of a global catastrophe.

The original dystopian IP was first conceived by Olsen, and seems to have found a fan in Dino Patti. The two released a new teaser trailer for the project, seen below, which features what appears to be an alien invasion. Could this be the cause of the game’s global catastrophe?

You can learn more about Jumpship and stay up-to-date on Somerville by checking out the official Jumpship website. Overall, Somerville has certainly piqued our interest, and we can’t wait to find out more as the game comes together under the guidance of Patti, Olsen, and the rest of the Jumpship team.
