Counterplay Games Partners with Bandai Namco to Publish Duelyst

Counterplay Games can now focus solely on developing game features for Duelyst.

Counterplay Games, the development team behind the online collectible card game Duelyst, has recently announced their partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment America in a recent news post on the Duelyst website.

According to the announcement, the new partnership will allow the team at Counterplay to “focus solely on development,” giving the developers more time to improve and expand upon new features for Duelyst without having to worry about publishing responsibilities.

“Bandai Namco will take on publishing responsibilities including marketing and customer service. This means we’ll be able to introduce more and more people to the game we all love!”

The team at Counterplay Games also emphasized that despite this new partnership, the current design aspects of Duelyst will remain the same, stating that “no drastic changes” will be made as a result. However, to allow for a smooth transition, the studio has asked that players merge their existing Duelyst account with a BNEA account so that Bandai Namco can begin providing customer support for current players. “Merging over accounts allows Bandai Namco to start managing the Duelyst servers to provide improved stability,” says the development team.

To commemorate the new partnership, players who log into Duelyst between July 11th and August 1st will receive a special login bonus gift. Players can look forward to getting 3 Core Set Orbs and a Bandai Namco Healing Mystic skin upon logging in for the first time during the event.

Duelyst is a free-to-play collectible card game that depicts its turn-based combat with stunning animations and colorful pixel-art sprites. The game focuses on fast, competitive battles and features an extensive lore told through its in-game codex. Duelyst is available for free on PC, Mac, and Steam.
