First Trailer for Ready Player One Drops at SDCC 2017

Catch your first glimpse of the upcoming Steven Spielberg film, Ready Player One.

The bestselling novel by Ernest Cline, Ready Player One, is getting an official film adaptation by the one and only Steven Spielberg. While the directorial talent behind the film is more than enough to get fans of the book excited, the visuals highlighted by the film’s debut trailer have managed to dial things up to eleven.

In the trailer below, you may instantly recognize familiar sights from the book including the “stacks” as well as the expansive realm of the OASIS. In particular, the stacks fall in line with the book's original cover, and it's details like these that make us eager to see the film when it drops on March 30th, 2018

In addition, there are plenty of fun iconic 80s references to be found in the trailer. From Freddy Krueger, to the Iron Giant and a sleek looking Delorean, the trailer looks to immediately connect fans to the story’s main treasure hunt spearheaded by OASIS creator James Halliday (played by Mark Rylance).

If you’ve yet to read the book and want to know what all the hype is about, you can click here to grab it on Amazon for Kindle as well as paperback and hardcover.
