Atari has invaded the realm of fashion with their newest innovation, the “Speakerhat”. Atari has teamed up with Audiowear to design and create the new wearable tech, which they debuted on the San Diego Comic-Con show floor last week.
As the name suggests, the Atari Speakerhat is a baseball-style cap that comes with its own stereo speakers inside the bill of the cap. The Speakerhat boasts a lightweight design that allows users to wear it for extended periods of time. The hat also comes with a built-in microphone that can connect to devices via Bluetooth.
Playing music or audio through the Speakerhat is as easy as connecting to any nearby computer, smartphone, or tablet to stream audio content. The hat can do pretty much anything you can do with other Bluetooth-enabled devices, which means it can also send and receive phone calls and respond to voice commands. Don’t worry about buying batteries, either, as the Speakerhat comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery.

What really makes the Speakerhat unique is its patented “Social Synchronous Broadcast” technology, which allows for multiple Speakerhat wearers to listen to the same audio content simultaneously, eliminating the need to share earbuds with a friends and allowing everyone with the hat to enjoy the same audio experience together.
The Atari Speakerhat is currently in beta. If you wish to participate in the cap’s development process, you can sign up to become a beta tester on the Speakerhat Beta Program contest page. Head over to AtariLife.com for additional Speakerhat details and updates.
