Okami HD Reportedly Coming to PS4 and Xbox One This Winter

Rumor has it that Okami HD will arrive for current-gen consoles just in time for the holidays.

While an official confirmation has yet to be made, sources suggest that Capcom’s hit adventure game Okami could be getting a current-gen HD remaster for consoles this upcoming winter season.

According to two different sources that recently spoke with Kotaku UK, an Xbox One/PlayStation 4 HD remaster of Okami is slated to launch on December 12, 2017. If such is the case, it will be the second time Okami gets an HD remaster following the PlayStation 3 remaster that was released back in 2012 (the original Okami launched for the PlayStation 2 in 2006 and was later ported over to the Nintendo Wii).

It’s important to note that Capcom hasn’t offered any confirmation of its own, nor has it even commented on the rumors of a current-gen Okami remaster in the first place. As nice as it would be to replay Okami on current-gen consoles, fans should definitely take a hard “I’ll believe it when I see it stance” until Capcom sounds off on the matter. Still, hoping for a current-gen remaster seems a bit more plausible at the moment than hoping for a fully fledged sequel, which is a shame considering how beloved the original Okami is.
