Fishing Planet's Rockin' PS4 Trailer Makes Fishing Look Like an Extreme Sport

Who knew fishing could seem so epic?

After several years in Early Access on Steam, Fishing Planet is finally making its way to PlayStation 4 on August 29th. To commemorate its console debut, Fishing Planet has recently released a shiny new trailer that’s nothing short of epic.

The trailer for Fishing Planet on PS4 did everything it could to make fishing look like an extreme sport. That’s not to say that fishing isn’t entertaining, but it’s clear that this trailer was looking to grab your attention.

It’s really the music that takes the trailer to the next level. High-fidelity, glossy scenery and mild, slo-mo fish-wrangling shots are starkly juxtaposed with heavy guitar music pounding in the background, making the whole ordeal seem much more epic than it really is. The best part is when the stoic fisherman holds up his catch at the end, panning out to show him on a laptop screen in some high-rise office. Hey, if corporate CEOs love Fishing Planet, then you should, too!

Fishing Planet is a free-to-play fishing simulator that aims to beat the angler-pants off of the competition with its sharp graphics, realistic physics, and intelligent fish AI. The lifelike fish and believable tackle behavior are partially what make Fishing Planet a “true-to-life fishing simulator” that can actually help you improve your IRL fishing skills.

Whether you’re a fishing enthusiast or just starting out as a fresh angler, Fishing Planet will help you wade your way into the sport. Be sure to reel in Fishing Planet for free on PS4 on August 29th.
