Thatgamecompany's New Project 'Sky' Will Be An Apple Exclusive

The newest title from Journey developers thatgamecompany will be launching first on Apple products.

During yesterday’s Apple Press Conference, Jenova Chen revealed the next title from thatgamecompany, Sky. Along with the game’s reveal, thegamecompany also announced that Sky will be launching on Apple products (iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV), first.

This likely comes as a surprise for many fans of thatgamecompany, who previously released games such as Journey and Flower as PlayStation exclusives.

To help elaborate on the decision to release Sky for mobile devices, be sure to check out the interview posted on thatgamecompany’s YouTube channel between Geoff Keighley and Jenova Chen above.

Along with the various announcements concerning Sky, thatgamecompany also dropped the official reveal trailer for Sky. During the Apple Press Conference presentation, Sky was described as a game that combines exploration with a light social experience.

In Sky, players control a cloak-wearing protagonist that flies through the clouds with up to eight friends collecting light from around the world. On thatgamecompany’s website, a summary for Sky reads as follows:

“It’s hard to explain the game, but a good place would be to say that Sky is a game specially created to be played, and shared, among loved ones and family. If you can imagine the delight of visiting a theme park where lasting memories are made, we envision Sky will sometimes feel like that.”
