Stranger Things: The Game - Where to Find All VHS Tapes
VHS Tape #1
The first VHS Tape in Stranger Things: The Game can be found inside Hawkin’s Lab. Once you’ve defeated the Evil Scientist boss, head into the room to the right of where the boss fight took place. There, you’ll find VHS Tape #1.
VHS Tape #2
The second VHS Tape in Stranger Things: The Game can be found inside the Forest Maze. After defeating the Forest Maze boss, there’s a room to the northwest of the boss fight area. This room requires a keycard to access.
To obtain the keycard, head to the room located to the west of the boss area. Once you have the keycard, you’ll be able to unlock the Forest Maze room that contains VHS Tape #2.
VHS Tape #3
The third VHS Tape in Stranger Things: The Game can be found in Hawkins Middle School. After progressing through the game to the point where Will joins your party, head to Hawkins Middle School.
After entering, you’ll want to head north, east, and then east again. Here, you’ll find a room with a pipe in it. Enter the room and you’ll spot VHS Tape #3.
VHS Tape #4
The fourth VHS Tape in Stranger Things: The Game can be found in the Sewers. Again, once you have Will in your party, head to the center room in the Sewers (it has three counterclockwise currents).
Next, enter the room on the northeast side. Then, use Nancy to break the wall on the right. Head into the next room and into a room with a pipe. Use Will to move through the pipe, then into the room below. Here, you’ll find VHS Tape #4.
VHS Tape #5
The fifth VHS Tape in Stranger Things: The Game can be found in the Hawkins Public Library after you’ve escaped from the Elite Guards. Once you’ve defeated the Hawkins Public Library dungeon, return to the Library.
Note that this is a section in the game that doesn’t remain complete, even after being finished in Normal mode. During the day, you’ll find slight differences as well as items that were unavailable with the lights off.
In the Library, head to the room along the northwest corridor. There, you’ll find a room on the right (west of the bathroom). Inside, you’ll be able to collect VHS Tape # 5.
VHS Tape #6
The sixth VHS Tape in Stranger Things: The Game can be found in the entrance to the Hawkins Lab Bunker. Here, you’ll want to head to the first room of the Hawkins Lab Bunker dungeon.
This is an area you’ll reach naturally while progressing through the game’s story (after you have Will and Dustin in your party). Before you exit the room, be sure to stop and collect VHS Tape #6.
VHS Tape #7
The seventh VHS Tape in Stranger Things: The Game can be found inside Hopper’s House. To collect the VHS Tape, head to Hopper’s House. Inside, you’ll find VHS Tape #7.
Note that we recommend completing the game’s main story before collecting VHS Tape #7 inside Hopper’s House.
VHS Tape #8
The eighth VHS Tape in Stranger Things: The Game can be found inside the Arcade. To reach the Arcade, head to the northeast area on your map near the Hunting & Camping Store and the Dump.
Note that you’ll land right in front of the Arcade after the Conspicuous Van chase. Head inside the arcade, then venture off to the northeast corner. Make your way around the gamers, and you’ll find VHS Tape #8.
How to Unlock the Exclusive Stranger Things Trailer
With all 8 VHS Tapes collected in Stranger Things: The Game, you’ll be able to unlock an exclusive trailer for Season 2 of Stranger Things. To unlock and view this trailer, head to the Hawk Theater located in Downtown Hawkins.
Inside the Hawk Theater, head through the lobby and over to the northern room (with the screening theaters). Enter Theater #1 and you’ll be able to view the exclusive trailer for Season 2 of Stranger Things (as long as you’ve collected all 8 VHS Tapes).
