Fortnite: Battle Royale Update Adds Player Stats

The latest Fortnite patch introduces a variety of tweaks to Battle Royale as well as game’s campaign.

The latest update released for Fortnite last week adds several exciting new features, most notably player stats to Battle Royale. To view player Stats, be sure to download Patch 1.7.1 before heading to the Battle Royale home screen.

Aside from Stats, Epic Games noted that leaderboards are currently in the works for Battle Royale as well. There’s no information as to when players can expect leaderboards in Fortnite: Battle Royale, but with the recent addition of Stats, the wait will likely be a short one. Regarding leaderboards, Epic Games had this to say:

“We missed our initial release date for leaderboards, but we’re working to get them in as soon as possible.”

Other additions in Patch 1.7.1 include stability and quality-of-life improvements to the Save the World campaign. With the update installed, players can expect to see balance adjustments such as increased ability damage, health, and shield values.

According to Epic Games, these changes have little impact at lower levels. Instead, they’re intended to provide a significant buff for players who’ve made noticeable progress in the campaign. Furthermore, Fortnite’s Save the World campaign now impacts the game’s Challenge the Horde mode.

“The farther along you are in the Save the World campaign, the farther along your Challenge the Horde journey begins,” notes Epic. “Veteran players will no longer have to replay lower difficulty content in order to reach a true challenge.”
