The first step when it comes to starting the Grimm Troupe quest in Hollow Knight is heading to the Howling Cliffs. Once you arrive at the Howling Cliffs, you’ll need to seek out a breakable wall. This breakable will reveals a secret pathway once broken that heads off to the right. Follow the path until you reach a dead end and an insect corpse.
Inspect the insect corpse, then head back into the room you passed just prior to reaching the dead end. Here, you’ll spot a bonfire which needs to be lit. Upon striking the bonfire, all of the torches will light up in the background and music will begin to play. Next, head back to Dirtmouth. If you scan the area, you’ll notice a new tent has popped up.
Head into the smaller tent on your left and talk to Divine, who will ask you why you called the Grimm Troupe here. Next, to officially start the Grimm Troupe quest, you’ll need to head inside the large tent and speak with the Troupe Master. In doing so, the Troupe Master will ask you to head off and collect flames that are scattered in various places around the map.
To help you on your quest, the Troupe Master will give you the Grimmchild Charm. This charm will show you the location of all the flames on your map, making it a bit easier to complete the Grimm Troupe quest.
