When Does Sea of Thieves Release?

Find out when you can play Rare’s upcoming title, Sea of Thieves.

Rare’s highly anticipated pirate game, Sea of Thieves, released a brand new trailer at The Game Awards last week. At the end of the trailer, an official release date was revealed for the Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive title.

When does Sea of Thieves release? Well, fans impatient to get their hands on Sea of Thieves will be glad to learn that the game is only a few short months away from its release date of March 20th, 2018!

To add to the excitement, a custom Sea of Thieves Limited Edition controller for Xbox One was revealed which boasts a gorgeous purple design, laser etched barnacles, a golden trigger, and a skull that glows in the dark. It also comes with the exclusive Ferryman clothing set for your Sea of Thieves character, a 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold, and a 14-day trial of Xbox Games Pass.

The controller, which is priced at $74.99, is currently available for pre-order and will release globally on February 6th, 2018.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Sea of Thieves plays as a first-person co-op multiplayer game set in a shared open-world. Gameplay consists of players piloting a ship through vast ocean expanses in search of treasure, and to complete a variety of quests.

Players won’t have to go it alone, as they’ll be assigned a crew and can divvy up tasks like repairing ship damage, firing cannons at enemies, and hoisting the sails for a nice speed boost. This helps make Sea of Thieves both an engaging and authentic experience. What’s more, the game boasts crossplay support between PC and Xbox One!

Stay tuned, as we’ll be posting more about Sea of Thieves in the months leading up to the game’s release.
