PUBG's blue zone becomes deadlier in next update

Vaulting on the PTR by next week.

The final patch before PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds releases at the end of this year will make the blue zone do more damage.

Alongside vaulting and several bug fixes, the next patch ready for the public test servers next week will increase the damage over time done to players outside the playzone.

The slowly enclosing circle currently does little damage per second before its final stages, allowing players to stay outside while healing for extended periods and then entering the playzone towards the end of the game.

"We have decided to adjust the blue zone damage to encourage engagement inside of the play zone,” the PUBG team says in their patch notes. “From this new update, you will be able to focus more on the immediate, close-ranged skirmishes inside the play zone, instead of dealing with enemies outside of the play zone during the mid to late phases of the game."
