Fortnite has officially surpassed PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds as the most-watched game on Twitch. Not only is Fortnite currently rocking the 1st place spot, but the game now garners double the viewership of PUBG on average. The information comes from Fortnite Intel with the data itself provided by user SullyGnome.
In the latest reports from Fortnite Intel, Twitch’s various Fortnite streams have been viewed for around 4,882 years and 208 days. This not only beats League of Legends at 4,564 years and 190, it also beats out PUBG. Fortnite’s viewership growth on Twitch shows no sign of slowing down, having recently increased from 45,719 in December to 152,486 just last weekend.
On the flip side, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been on a viewership decline. Thus far, PUBG has dropped from a peak of 106,498 in December to just 56,619 as of last weekend. Additionally, Fortnite has been steadily surpassing PUBG in other areas including concurrent PC players, skyrocketing form an average of 60,000 to 3.4 million in only a few month’s time.
One reason behind Fortnite’s success over PUBG could be the issue of cheaters in PC versions of PUBG. Regardless of reasoning, it’s interesting to see Fortnite and its ever-popular Battle Royale mode continue to grow, especially on streaming sites like Twitch.
