Epic Games Announces Fortnite's Release on Mobile

Fortnite is coming to iOS and Android along with Cross Play support.

Epic Games recently announced plans to port Fortnite to mobile (both iOS and Android).

Addressing how the upcoming release of Fortnite will function on mobile, Epic stated: “Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates.”

In addition to mobile gamers having access to the same version of Fortnite available on other platforms, there’s currently talks of letting mobile players on different platforms play against one another.

This includes challenging other players on PC and console (with the exception of Xbox).

“In partnership with our friends at Sony, Fortnite Battle Royale will support Cross Play and Cross Progression between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and eventually Android. This means players across devices can squad up with friends and play together,” notes Epic.

Fortnite is scheduled to release on iOS this Monday, March 12th. To get a jump on the action, you can currently sign up for the iOS release of Fortnite by clicking here. Sadly, Android users will have to wait as Epic explained: “Support for Android will be coming in the next few months.”
