MineCon Earth 2018 has a date...and a countdown
Mojang has revealed the date for this year's MineCon, the annual celebration of all things Minecraft. It'll take place on September 29, and there's even a ticking countdown on the official site if you need to know exactly how far away that is, as well as a teaser trailer hinting at what we can expect.
This will be the second time that the event has been an online-only affair, after six years of having an actual physical convention in places such as Las Vegas, Orlando, London and Disneyland Paris. Obviously that limited the number of fans who could take part, and required a lot of planning and management.
In 2017 it was rebranded MineCon Earth and now streams creator panels, live gameplay and fan cosplay to whoever wants to watch. That doesn't mean they've gone cheap, however. Last year the event was hosted by actor and comedian Will Arnett, best known for Arrested Development and voicing Lego Batman on the big screen.
Mojang is now looking for fans with good ideas for talks and panels, as well as aspiring cosplayers, so if you think you've got what it takes, contact them via the website.Back To Top
