PUBG's limited-time War mode is up and gunning

Henry Stenhouse spent his younger life studying the laws of physics, even going so far as to complete a PhD in the subject before video game journalism stole his soul. You'll find Henry chugging along the news train most days, throwing out features into the wild and finding any excuse possible to talk about esports when he can.

Formerly of the freelance life, Henry held such esteemed (read: imaginary) titles as PC Gamer's go-to CS:GO freelancer, and has been smitten with the competitive shooter life since growing up on the slopes of Dust2.

Henry's experience culminated in his role as AllGamer's premium FPS player, meaning he's won at least a single game of PUBG, we promise. Henry is also a fan of all things Nintendo and strategy, and still can't get over just how good Breath of the Wild is.

If you'd like to send Henry free stuff (he'll take a Vive Pro, thanks) contact him via email at henry.stenhouse@allgamers.com or catch him on Twitter, here.

Respawns in PUBG? Blasphemy!

The latest time-limited event to kick off in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is the team deathmatch War.

War is a team deathmatch mode in which three squads of ten compete to reach 200 points. Unlike the traditional game, respawns are enabled, with deceased players returning to the level via a cargo plane drop which passes ever 30 seconds.

Also unlike the main game, players will all spawn with a random pistol and AR, as well as with a level 1 vest and helmet. You can grab loot from the level, other players and care packages which come down every 90 seconds.

It’s first to 200 points, but each kill is worth three. You’ll also get one point for each downed opponent, with another for reviving an ally. Five points are deducted if you team kill or down an ally.

The War Event Mode is live now, running until Sunday April 15 at 7pm PT (Monday, April 16 at 3am CET).
