Monster Hunter World's Kulve Taroth siege begins tomorrow

Next limited time event makes you work together for the gold.

The next Monster Hunter World limited time event begins 5pm PT on April 18, and includes a new game mode – Siege – to bring down the golden elder dragon Kulve Taroth.

The Siege game mode requires up to 16 hunters to work together to bring down the gold-covered wyvern by joining together in the Gathering Hub (that big ship at the top of home base) and heading off in hunting parties of four to track and investigate the same Kulve Taroth.

As each one hunts down the precious beast and smashes bits off it, they earn progress on the same Siege target as the other groups. Capcom's community manager Yuri Araujo has more info on what you can get out of hunting Kulve Taroth.

"The primary goal of this Siege is to repel Kulve Taroth, but its shimmering golden mantle happens to be a collection of shiny weapon relics it has gathered along its journey through the New World," he teases. "We don’t have much information on when and where Kulve Taroth has amassed all these relics, so the nature and quality of these weapons (read: type and stats) are entirely up to fate."

These weapons look pretty incredible so we expect them to be hard to drop. But the armor sets also look shiny, too, and they can be crafted in a more traditional way at the Smithy using Kulve Taroth materials that will drop from the hunts.

The Kulve Taroth Siege is a limited time event that will begin April 18 at 5pm PT / April 19 at 1am BST, along with the second free content update. Araujo says the Kulve Taroth Siege will return at a later date, but that details on that are not finalized at the moment so don't miss out if you love gold.
