Niantic posted a statement on Twitter today informing players that the company is working to make Pokémon GO “fun and fair” by combating services used to cheat. For example, some services will capture Pokémon for you in Pokémon GO. If you’ve made use of these services, you may soon find that any Pokémon caught illegitimately have been replaced with a red line and are no longer usable in Pokémon GO.
The action is likely due to the connection between Pokémon GO and the newly announced Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Once Pokémon: Let’s Go is released on November 16, players will be allowed to transfer Pokémon caught in Pokémon GO over to the new Switch titles.

This means that if you plan on purchasing Pokémon: Let’s Go, you have the opportunity to prepare early by hopping into Pokémon GO this summer and catching Pokémon. Well, as long as you do it without cheating. In addition to the new anti-cheat measures, it was announced that Pokémon GO will be getting new Alolan Pokémon with Alolan Exeggutor already available. Other Alolan variants coming to Pokémon GO include Meowth, Vulpix, Diglett, Raichu, and Rattata.
