At E3 2018, Microsoft announced a brand new game, Gears Tactics. Set in the Gears of War universe, Gears Tactics is a turn-based strategy game that serves as a prequel set 12 years before the events of the first Gears of War game. In the trailer, a glimpse of COG soldiers fighting against the Locust can be seen.
Gears Tactics is reminiscent of Halo wars and Halo Wars 2, and aims to take the Gears series in an entirely new direction. Aside from Gears Tactics, Gears Pop! and Gears 5 were announced. According to Microsoft, Gears Tactics will be a PC-only title set to launch on Windows 10 sometime in the future. As of right now, no release date has been announced.
