Square Enix unveils weird live action game The Quiet Man, more in August

Violent silence coming to PS4 and Steam, can be finished in a single sitting.

The Quiet Man, a game about not talking and punching people, was revealed at Square Enix's E3 press conference today and you can complete it in a single sitting when it eventually releases.

Not much was shown of the game, and what was shown seemed to have a curious blend of live action video and brawling gameplay but we'll learn more about it in August. The Quiet Man will come out for PS4 and Steam whenever it does arrive.

The trailer shows a flyover of New York City, ostensibly in real life, before arriving in a back alley with some thugs, or at least very protective homeowners.

What we can only assume is the titular protagonist doesn't say a word, and taps his ear as if to object to the noisy welcome he has been afforded by said homeowners, before the camera twists around into a third-person action view for a fight. This move also seems to blend the full motion video cutscene into the CGI gameplay? It's very weird, so have a look at it below.

The YouTube description states:

"THE QUIET MAN™ delivers an immersive story driven cinematic action experience seamlessly blending high-production live action, realistic CG and pulse-pounding action gameplay. Embark on an adrenaline-fueled motion picture like experience which can be completed in one sitting."

Seems like a short FMV action game, then? Weird. If you'd like to keep up with more of the weird stuff coming out of E3 2018 then keep checking in on our hub for all the latest.
