World of Tanks Challenger Rumble Coming To New York City

Winning teams will secure a spot in the Champion Rumble.

While much of the World of Tanks eSports scene is currently focused on the 2016 Let’s Battle Tour, Wargaming has now announced another New York City-based event — the Challenger Rumble.

The Challenger Rumble will see the best teams from North America, Europe, and Asia gather for a one-day event featuring competitive eSports matches for both World of Tanks, and for the first time ever, the mobile spin-off game World of Tanks Blitz, courtesy of its ongoing Blitz Twister Cup tournament.

Challenger Rumble participants will be competing for their share of a $200,000 prize pool and the top two teams will also secure spots in the follow-up Championship Rumble. The Championship Rumble will feature four teams in total: last year’s Grand Finals champion NaVi, a qualifying team from CIS, and the two teams from the Challenger Rumble. The team that emerges victorious in the Championship Rumble will earn a spot in next year’s Grand Finals tournament.

Unlike the final event for the 2016 Let’s Battle Tour, the Challenger Rumble doesn’t require an RSVP and will be open to the public. The Challenger Rumble is currently set to be held on Saturday, November 19th at the historic Altman Building located at 135 West 18th Street in New York City. More information on the Challenger Rumble event can be found on the official World of Tanks website.
