Best German Tank Lines in World of Tanks

Picking a tank line in World of Tanks can be tricky, so here are the best German tank lines!

German Heavy Tank Line

The VK 30.01 H is a Tier 5 Heavy tank with a ludicrous amount of gun options.

The German Heavy tank lines are where Heavy players can feel at home. With three Heavy tanks waiting for them at Tier 10, not even the USSR Heavy tank line offers as many choices for a Heavy player, despite them having some of the best noob-friendly Heavy tanks in the game.

The first Heavy tank in this German tank line is the D.W. 2 available at Tier 4, and should be ground through as fast as possible in order to reach the VK 30.01 H – a heavy with one of the largest selection of guns on the market. Thanks to its gun depression and thick armor, the VK 30.01 H can enter a hull-down position, and even side-scrape thanks to its tracks and side armor.

At Tier 8, the Tiger II, also lovingly referred to as the King Tiger during the war, offers an extremely strong Heavy tank experience. At stock level, the Tiger II is still able to perform well but really comes into its own once a few modules and weapons are purchased. With excellent frontal armor that allows it to attack enemies head-on, and with the top 10.5 cm gun offering great penetration and accuracy, the Tiger II is a formidable opponent to face.

The E 100 is huge, with thick armor and a powerful gun. This is the Heavy tank you want blocking a choke point.

Completing this line is the E 100, a close sibling of the mighty Maus. Unlike the Maus with its one gun, the E 100 has the option to be upgraded to the 15 cm, a main cannon that packs a mighty punch, especially when using HE rounds. As the end point of the Heavy line, the E 100 forgoes all speed in exchange for armor and raw power. Expect to get into position and stay there for the entire duration of a match – just make sure to use your armor effectively.

Then there’s the Maus German Heavy tank line that begins at Tier 7 with the Tiger (P). This Heavy tank is exceptionally good at attacking enemy tanks head-on thanks to its thick hull, turret, and mantle armor. Alternatively, it can snipe effectively, but better to leave that to the other tank types.

Finally, the Maus rounds off this other German Heavy tank line – with the option of splitting to the Pz.Kpfw. VII. The Maus is one of the most iconic Heavy tanks in the game, and really needs no explanation. This behemoth won’t move quickly, but it doesn’t need to move anywhere once in position. Your enemies will be smashing themselves against your armor like the ocean against a boulder.
