World of Tanks Update 9.17 is Now Live

New Swedish vehicles, sound improvements, HD models, and more.

Wargaming has officially deployed the 9.17 update for World of Tanks. Included in the update are two new Swedish vehicle branches, new HD models for several existing tanks, updated mini-maps for several in-game maps, and much more.

The full patch notes for Update 9.17 are quite exhaustive. In short, the major highlights include two brand new vehicle branches for Swedish tanks, various sound-related improvements, tweaked stats for several existing Premium tanks, updated mini-maps for specific maps, and new HD models for a selection of existing tanks.

The maps which have received updated mini-maps include:

  • Karelia
  • Pilsen
  • Sand River
  • Mountain Pass
  • Tundra
  • Windstorm
  • Winter Himmelsdorf

Meanwhile, the following tanks have received new HD models:

  • SU-85I
  • Conqueror Gun Carriage
  • Sfl. IVc
  • Sfl. IVb
  • VK 28.01
  • KV-2
  • Sturer Emil
  • Tetrarch
  • SU-122-44
  • B1
  • SU-76I

World of Tanks’ servers were taken offline to deploy the update and Wargaming has credited all active Premium accounts with an additional 24 hours of Premium time to make up for the hours that the servers were unavailable. The servers should be back up and running as of the time of this writing.
