5 Games World of Tanks Players Might Love

Take a break from Arty and try one of these games.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI

We’ll slow it down just a bit with Civilization VI. If Battlefield 1 requires a bit of luck to survive the random events of multiplayer, Civ VI requires careful calculation and understanding of mechanics. That’s why I’m thinking World of Tanks players would enjoy it.

Like World of Tanks, Civilization VI can be enjoyed even if you don’t know the mechanics well, but as you gain more experience, you’ll find replay value in trying out different civilizations, mastering in-game concepts, and managing your empire down to the smallest detail. The more you put into the game, the more you’re going to get out of it, much like World of Tanks.

Civilization VI is a turn-based 4X strategy game. It’s not exactly top down, but you do get a nice view of your civilization, which allows you to keep an eye on what’s happening and manage it better. You can play several difficulties, as well as numerous different civilizations. The goal is to win the game through culture, science, or military domination (to name a few), and each civilization has strengths and weaknesses that will help you choose between favorites and least favorites.

You’ll even find yourself going after the same civilizations game after game, like I did to Napoleon. Every time I wound up in a game against Napoleon, I had to wage war.

The price on Civilization VI isn’t small, but chances are if you like it, you’ll end up dropping hundreds of hours into it. Still, money matters, so if you’re looking for a similar experience but with a lower price point, pick up Civilization V. The game is currently about six years old, but can be had for about half the price of Civ VI, and has loads of DLC that can likely be attained by purchasing a complete edition of the game.
