Destiny 2 Confirmed for a 2017 Release

New leaked info claims Destiny 2 is coming this Fall.

While fans have anticipated the release of Destiny 2 in 2017, there had been no confirmation of the sequel’s fall release window until now.

In a conference call to their investors today, Activision’s earnings presentation confirmed their plans to launch Destiny 2 in 2017, stating that there’s going to be a “full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth.”

According to Polygon, Activision clarified after the conference call that Destiny 2 would indeed launch in the fall, but didn't give a specific date range. However, thanks to Reddit, we may already know this information.

New details on Destiny's sequel have surfaced thanks to a recent post by a Reddit user named Inside_Leaks, who claims to have exclusive “information regarding the future of Destiny” from an inside source at Bungie.

According to this leaked information, the Destiny sequel will allegedly be named Destiny II: The Forge of Hope. The leak also specifies that Destiny 2 will launch in Q4 of 2017, with a November release window. This Reddit post also contains some Destiny 2 plot details as well, for those who don't mind story spoilers.

The Reddit post was created ahead of the aforementioned conference call today, which seemed to further uphold the fall 2017 release window for Destiny 2. Although this information could very well be true, we advise that you remain skeptical until we hear more solid details from Bungie or Activision.

Assuming this information is correct, are you looking forward to the release of Destiny 2 in Fall 2017? Let us know in the comments!
