6 Things Gamers Could Buy Instead of the Nintendo Switch

You might be better off skipping the Nintendo Switch for one of these gaming options.

The moment the Nintendo Switch became available for pre-order on Amazon, I reserved mine. I had acquaintances that reserved three. The hype was real, and people were already freaking out about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

As we neared the release of the Nintendo Switch, however, I began to question my purchase. I still had to buy a Pro Controller, and I intended to snag Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Then came the realization that I’d have to buy a MicroSD card if I wanted to forgo physical copies of games when it came to the Nintendo Switch.

After doing a bit of basic math, the Nintendo Switch with a Pro Controller, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and a 128GB MicroSD card was going to cost me about $470 USD. You can bump that up to well over $600 if you live in Canada. As a PC gamer, this didn’t sit well with me. Sure, I wanted a Nintendo Switch, but I wanted a lot of other things, too.

Here are six gaming related items or bundles that you could buy instead of dropping nearly $500 on a Nintendo Switch and all the fixings.
