Best Light Tanks for Noobs in World of Tanks

A few noob-friendly light tanks for the new World of Tanks player.

Light tanks are one of the most difficult tanks to play in World of Tanks, based solely on the fact they favor high speeds over armor. This simple change of focus means a lot more attention must be paid to positioning as well as general strategies.

As it stands, a lot of long-time World of Tanks players suggest that newer players should stick to Heavy or Medium tanks, so be sure to check out the best noob-friendly Heavy tanks if that applies to you. However, that shouldn't stop you from diving into a Light tank if you want to experience another facet of World of Tanks.

We've collected some of our favorite Light tanks, but we also want to hear from you in the comments. What do you think are some of the best Light tanks for noobs in World of Tanks?

M24 Chaffee

The Chaffee is probably the first light tank people would recommend for a new tanker looking to venture into light tanks.

Starting off our list of best Light tanks for noobs is the M24 Chaffee, an American Tier 5 tank that is one of the best all-rounder Light tanks available. Keep in mind, as with most Light tanks, its downside will be the amount of armor it has.

For players looking to venture into a Light tank line, the M24 Chaffee is a welcomed reward after grinding through the M5 Stuart, which is arguably one of the worst tanks in World of Tanks. What makes the M24 Chaffee so noob-friendly is its agility and its top speeds, making it excellent at maneuvering around a map.

Try to use the Chaffee as an active scout, being sure to equip it with the right equipment for its class. Given its speed, it would be understandable to be concerned about its accuracy or rate of fire, thankfully the Chaffee has got your covered. When upgraded to its top gun, the Chaffee boasts an impressive 0.36 dispersion with 1.9 seconds of aim time, allowing you to fire fairly easily while on the move or when you’re in a peak-a-boom situation.

Just don’t rely too heavily on the Chaffee’s armor, as it is paper-thin defenses leave you little room for mistakes. This leads the Chaffee into a defensive position, which can work given its 390m view range.
