Best Light Tanks for Noobs in World of Tanks

A few noob-friendly light tanks for the new World of Tanks player.

Pz.Kpfw. II Luchs

Shifting gears back down into the lower tiers, the Pz.Kpfw. II Luchs or “Luchs” for short, is one of the highest recommended Light tank for newer players or players looking for an enjoyable Light tank. While this isn’t some Premium tank capable of farming huge amounts of credits, the Luchs is part of a rather enjoyable German tank line.

The Luchs is a small, nimble, and adorable armored killing machine that is perfect for the novice tanker.

Positioned just after the Pz.Kpfw. I Ausf C, the Luchs is an impressively small and nimble tank best suited for scouting and small hit-and-runs. When used as a scout, the 5cm Kw.K. 39 L/60 offers the best choice in terms of dispersion, coming it at 0.40, which isn’t great by anyone’s standards but can get the job done.

With an astounding six guns to choose from, newer players are spoilt for choice when it comes to arming the Luchs for combat. However, one weapon worth pursuing is the 3cm M.K. 103, an interesting gun that has high penetration and fires a 2-shot burst with 5 in the magazine.

While the accuracy and dispersion are awful, the 3cm M.K. is great when used in close-ranges during hit-and-run tactics. Just don’t start sniping with it else you’re in for a bad time. While a few of the German tank lines can be frustrating at the lower tiers, the Luchs is worth pursuing for newer players looking to get an early taste of Light tank gameplay.
