Everything We Know About Call of Duty: WW2

Check out our in-depth breakdown of what was revealed during the recent livestream.

Multiplayer

Activision is waiting until this year’s E3 convention in June to fully unveil Call of Duty: WW2’s multiplayer component, but it did confirm during the reveal livestream that, much like the story campaign, the multiplayer will feature traditional boots-on-the-ground combat, authentic-feeling weaponry, and intense infantry-focused combat encounters.

Some of the multiplayer component’s new and unique features were also touched on and they include a new personalization feature called Divisions which allow players to pick specific military units to join (we figure these will function in a similar fashion to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Mission Teams), a persistent narrative-driven game mode aptly titled War, and a new social feature called Headquarters which, as you can see in the above image, will apparently allow players to gather and hang out in dedicated social spaces outside of competitive matches. We’ll have to wait until E3 to learn more, but it’s already looking like Call of Duty: WW2’s multiplayer will be the most dynamic and social iteration yet.
