5 Things Call of Duty Does Better Than Battlefield

As great as Battlefield is, there are some areas in which it can be lacking.

Immersive Story Campaigns

With Battlefield 1’s War Stories and the Battlefield: Bad Company storyline being the only exceptions, the story campaigns found in most other Battlefield games tend to be pretty forgettable. I played through the campaigns for games like Battlefield Hardline, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4, and I honestly don’t remember anything meaningful about them.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty has some of the most in-depth and memorable story campaigns in the entire shooter genre, having introduced players to memorable characters like Captain John Price, Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley, and the villainous Vladimir Makarov, among others.

Sure, not every Call of Duty story campaign is great (not even the great Kevin Spacey could help Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s campaign from feeling generic and soulless), but Call of Duty certainly has a better track record than Battlefield when it comes to creating narrative-driven experiences that are as iconic as they are immersive.
