5 Things Call of Duty Does Better Than Battlefield

As great as Battlefield is, there are some areas in which it can be lacking.

Character Customization

Over the years, each Call of Duty game has introduced new ways for players to more readily define their multiplayer avatars and profiles. Along with old staples like weapon skins and calling cards, the series has seen the introduction of more robust face/outfit customization for multiplayer avatars (Call of Duty: Ghosts), rarity-based weapon variants (Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare), and even new unlockable melee weapons (Call of Duty: Black Ops 3).

Sure, the introduction of such new cosmetic customization features wasn’t always done in the best way, but the various developers who make Call of Duty games have at least proven they’re willing to experiment with new methods for helping players stand out.

Meanwhile, the Battlefield series has been pretty stagnant when it comes to the amount of customization that’s available in any one game. Aside from tweaking your multiplayer avatar’s camo pattern and weapon skin, and the cool way you can unlock new dog tags by taking them from other players, there isn’t much when it comes to character customization. Needless to say, if you enjoy putting your personal mark on your multiplayer experience, you’re much better off going with Call of Duty than Battlefield.
