Red Dead Redemption 2 Set to Launch in Spring 2018

These new screenshots will have to hold us over until then.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now scheduled to launch in Spring 2018, according to a recent announcement from Rockstar Games. Many had hoped that this highly-anticipated sequel would be released sometime this year, but Rockstar has decided to push the date back in an effort to focus on quality.

In the announcement, Rockstar Games explains that since Red Dead Redemption 2 is essentially being created from scratch for the current generation of consoles, the development team needs more time to polish the sequel to their standards.

“We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.”

Rockstar Games also included a handful of new Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshots to make up for the delay and satiate fans until further notice. You can check out the new screenshots below.
