Best Medium Tanks for Sniping

Medium tanks make for some of the most versatile snipers in the game.

Leopard 1

The king of all Medium tank snipers, the German Leopard 1.

Finally, rounding off our list of best Medium tanks for sniping is the German Leopard 1. As we said in the beginning, German tanks are arguably the best snipers in World of Tanks.

Amazingly, the Leopard 1 isn’t just a one-trick pony, it’s able to fill the role of a flanker, passive scout, and can even brawl. Obviously you will need to know when to flank, but veteran tanks should already be well aware.

The Leopard 1’s 10,5 cm Bordkanone L7A3 grants an aim time of 1.9 seconds, making it extremely competitive at snap-shots, a dispersion rating of 0.3, 390 alpha damage, and 268 mm of penetration. This is truly a sniper’s dream tank. Able to reach a top speed of 65 km/h the Leopard 1 can get into position fast, while also managing to turn on a dime with its excellent manoeuvrability. New players looking to venture down a line and finish on a sniper should look no further than the Leopard 1.

Sniping in World of Tanks is one of those playstyles that requires dedication to the cause, often sitting in one position and taking a single shot before relocating for a better angle. Though sniping and sheer damage is often reserved for Tank Destroyers, there are a host of Medium tanks that can excel at sniping. What Medium tank do you find to be the most enjoyable and rewarding sniper in World of Tanks?
