7 Reasons the PS5 is Coming in 2018

Why Rockstar is the real winner if the PS5 drops in 2018.

There’s a lot of skepticism about the PS5 and whether it’s coming to gamers in 2018. While that skepticism is completely fair, it’s always fun to throw caution to the wind and do some speculating. It’s even more fun if you can pile some evidence on that speculation and at least get gamers considering the possibility that the PlayStation 5 might show up in 2018.

Today, I’ll be providing some circumstantial evidence that I think points to at least the possibility that the PS5 shows up in 2018. Read through, and feel free to chime in about whether I’m crazy, or perhaps if I’ve made you a believer, even if just a little bit.

An Analyst Predicted It

Damian Thong, an analyst for Macquarie Capital Securities, recently predicted that the PS5 would be arriving in the second half of 2018. Now, it’s easy to dismiss this as some whacko talking out of their ass, but Damian Thong has been right regarding his PlayStation predictions in the past. Previously, he accurately predicted the release dates of the PS4 Pro and the PS4 Slim. That doesn’t mean that he’s going to be right here, but it does entitle him to a certain level of consideration on the matter.
