7 Reasons the PS5 is Coming in 2018

Why Rockstar is the real winner if the PS5 drops in 2018.

The Time is Right

There was an eight-year gap between the release of the PS3 in 2006 and the release of the PS4 in 2014. This November will mark the four-year anniversary of the PS4. On the surface, it looks like an argument against the PS5 in 2018, but it’s quite the opposite.

The original PlayStation was released in December of 1994. Just shy of six years later, the PlayStation 2 was released in March of 2000. Six years after that, the PlayStation 3 came out in November of 2006.

Historically speaking, the world gets a new PlayStation console every six or so years, and we’re about to hit our fourth year on the current generation. Sure, this could mean the PS5 is headed our way in 2019, but given how quickly technology changes, it’s not beyond reason to think that the PS5 could arrive only five years after the PS4.
