Hardest Tanks to Play in World of Tanks

These tanks are difficult to master, but once you do, your enemies better look out.

AMX 13 105

Rounding off our list of hardest tanks to play in World of Tanks is the French Tier 10 Light tank, the AMX 13 105. Let’s get this out of the way immediately: yes, the AMX 13 105 offers some incredible damage, but a tank is more than just its firepower. In order to balance this 1,200 damage potential, the AMX 13 105 has several drawbacks that make it a difficult tank to master.

Though its capable of dishing out a lot of damage, it has a tight leash in the form of a low ammo capacity, clocking in at a mere 30 rounds – ten reloads and you’re out. This means that shots must be extremely well calculated, which is complicated further by the vehicles long aim time of 2.3 seconds.

High speeds are what keeps the AMX 13 105 alive, which is needed due to its thin armor. However, it does suffer from slow turret traverse, meaning you will get to where you’re going before the gun reaches its target. Additionally, the AMX 13 105 only offers -8 to +12 gun depression and elevation respectively, anything too high or too low are unviable targets.

The AMX 13 105 becomes an excellent and terrifying tank to fight against when a player can take these negatives, avoid them, and exploit the myriad of strengths. This is evident in the fact it is currently a tank with one of the highest win rates but fewest battles. However, this is not an easy ask, and not something every tanker will be capable of achieving, making the AMX 13 105 one of the hardest tanks to play in World of Tanks.

Just because a tank is challenging to master doesn’t make it a bad tank, it just makes it a vehicle with a high skill cap. While some of these tanks are considered bad by some, others consider them good. At the same time, there are tankers who believe these to be easy tanks to operate while others struggle to make ends meet. Where do you lie on the spectrum, do you think these vehicles were (or still are) difficult to play and master? What tanks did you struggle to operate the first time around?
