3 Ways Download Faster on the PS4

Here are three secrets to faster PS4 downloads that you might not know.

Method 1 - Unplugging Your Ethernet Cable

The first method is probably the simplest and most effective way of speeding up your PS4 download speeds, but unfortunately it does rely on havnig an ethernet cable. If you don't have an ethernet cable yet, we really do recommend you get one. If your console is not near your router, then don't worry. As we mentioned before, you can buy any length you want for a relatively cheap price.

After you've set up your connection via ethernet, you can then proceed to start downloading your games or updates. You'll noticed after just a minute or so that your download speeds will significantly decrease. When this happens, you should remove your ethernet cable from either your PS4 or router.

Now, this might seem like a pretty stupid idea, as it will stop your download dead in its tracks. However, once you plug your ethernet cable back in, you'll see that the download has significantly increased in speed. No one is entirely sure why the PS4 does this, but some people report a massive increase in speeds, even as high as 50 times faster. If that doesn't make you want to buy an ethernet cable, then we don't know what will!
