New Gun, the Mk14 EBR, is Coming to PUBG

Another reason to hold onto those 7.62 rounds.

After the recent controversy surrounding microtransactions seeping into PUBG, it’s nice to get a bit of good news so  that the community can put down their pitchforks and torches for a few moments. Coming to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in the monthly update next week is a brand-spankin’ new Assault Rifle, the Mk14 EBR.

The Mk14 EBR is based off of the real-life weapon, the Mk 14 Enhanced Battle Rifle. This weapon will utilize the 7.62mm ammo that is currently only accepted by a few weapons in the game, most notably the AKM, Karabiner 98 Kurz, M24, R1895, SKS, and the most recent addition, the Groza.

While the OTs-14 Groza is technically an Assault Rifle, it’s predominantly used in close-to-medium range combat, making it feel more in line with a submachine gun. Players will no doubt rejoice at the inclusion of the new Mk14 EBR, as it will likely allow an 8x scope to be attached, in a similar fashion to the AKM and will hopefully have more attachment slots, in a similar fashion to the SCAR or M416.

This makes it the third 7.62mm Assault Rifle, bringing it in-line with the number of Assault Rifles that utilize 5.56mm ammo: M16A4, SCAR-L, and M416. Unfortunately, it looks as if the Mk14 EBR is going to be a Supply Crate-only drop, meaning you're not going to find this in the wild unless you kill someone who's looted it from a supply drop.

Be sure to check back with us when the Month 4 update drops - we’ll be waiting in line to receive the goods, and judging by the Month 3 update, it’s likely to be a big one.
