The Old DualShock 4
Ok so this isn’t technically a third-party controller, but the old DualShock 4 is a great option if your goal is a nice controller at a more affordable price. You can find them at cheaper prices than the revamped DS4 usually, but we would avoid buying used due to longevity concerns.
The only differences between the new and old models are a new cut out on the rather useless touchpad for the also useless lightbar, and USB connectivity. The wired connecting option was huge for tournament organizers with multiple systems under one roof, but if you are playing at home on a single PS4, you won’t really need it.
