Object 263

My newfound love. I picked up the Object 263 a while ago but it never really stuck, I felt it was too clunky considering its armor didn’t really work properly.

Recently that all changed with a significant buff to the 263’s mantlet armor. Whereas previously it was a very flat 250mm thick plate the entire way across, it now has most of it backed up by another 250mm of nominal armor thickness, with the only weak spot being right next to the gun.

This change enabled the Object 263 to work hulldown locations like never before, and fully utilise that 130mm main armament that pumps out an extraordinary DPM of 3200. Unfortunately, the open-top nature of the vehicle as well as its very poor side and rear armor means it doesn’t take arty shells well at all.

Aside from that, the Object 263 has very good mobility statistics for shifting around the battlefield, and very decent dispersion values across the board – surprising for a Russian vehicle. I used it to pick up Tank Destroyer Mission 15 for the Object 260 just a few days ago, and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a change of pace from your conventional TD’s.
