AMX 50 B
If there’s one thing the French do well, it’s autoloaders. The AMX 50 B is no exception, to say the very least. It’s a Medium Tank in Heavy Tank’s clothing, boasting phenomenal mobility and a noticeable lack of armor despite its assigned class. When it comes to firepower, and quite a few other aspects, the AMX 50 B is quite comparable to the TVP T 50/51.
Its DPM is more or less identical, with the TVP gaining an edge in reload and intra-clip reload whereas the AMX 50 B has more substantial alpha damage and clip potential. Not only this, but the higher penetration AP rounds allow the AMX 50 B to reliably punch holes in its enemies more easily than low penetration APCR can due to Normalisation mechanics. The longer intra-clip reload also allows the AMX 50 B more time to fully aim its shots between firing, a liberty the TVP does not have unless it wishes to lower its effective DPM and burst damage by holding back. These combined aspects of mobility plus reliable damage output makes the AMX 50 B one of the greatest Support Heavies in the game.
A final, overlooked aspect of the AMX 50 B which can be quite useful in practice is its weight and frontal hull armor, combined with its mobility. This makes ramming enemies a very viable option in the correct scenario to supplement damage output.
